Selina,

She is a very pretty girl. Perhaps a tad sad looking, but definitely spooky looking. I hope no one lets her play with knives.

I love the way you have integrated the b/w with the color. Perhaps she is absorbing all the life that surrounds her?

You have focused well on her eyes. She certainly has good eye contact with the camera (viewer). She could be looking deep within my soul ready to suck out any life force I may have. Thank goodness she has good catchlights so that she has a spark of life within her expression. I'm having way to much fun with this. I'll get back to my critique.

Her skin tone is excellent. The lighting is very good. I really like the backlighting on her hair. It helps to separate her from the background very well. The background is nicely out of focus and she is quite well separated from it. The top of her hair does blend in a tad. Your composition, contrast and color saturation are excellent.

The only thing that bothers me at all (and this might be stretching it a bit) is than I wish her fingers were not tucker under the bear's arm. It makes her fingers look a bit cut off.

Nice shot,

Mark

P.S. I looked at your portfolio. It is very impressive and professional. Nice job!

Well, you certainly caught me with the mood of this image.  I immediately felt the urge to comfort her, the poor little darling.  I guess we adults are programmed to react to that look and you captured it perfectly.  I like the dual color/monochrome appearance but would suggest that I'd prefer all of her hair to be colored.

A stunning picture of a sweet little princess:-)

To me this picture tells a story of sadness and insecurity.

Best regards
