I'd like to get a few comments on this picture. I tried to get the

vibrant colors of this flower early in the morning. Light was

already a bit harsh but efforts at screening were only reducing the

contrast .

Its a good subject, but the light is too much. You've lost detail in the upper center pedal and the hot spot is distracting. The color of the light is not bad, just too much. A ND filter may have helped, but not much. Maybe reposition the flower to be back light or indirect lighting from the side. Also, I would examine other perspectives. Shadows would help to show depth as well. And, the back ground is ok, but something other than black may compliment the color of the flower better.
