This mirrors the way I usually feel on the way in to work in the morning. Dark and cloudy. I just don't have the Bay to look at. It looks like the bright sun shut the exposure down or you darkened it in computer. This is a very nice image in the continuing series. The pink band of East Bay air above the hills is especially nice.

By the way, how did the parrot portrait session go?

Fred,
Yes, the sun darkened it considerably, and I did it more-so in PS to srengthen to bring out the light in the clouds and the color.
As for the parakeet, it died the next day. Really. It seems I don't have the touch.

Small birds are very delicate creatures. It's just unfortunate that it happened at that particular time.

You heard about the guy that took his car in for warranty work didn't you? He brought it back the next week and the service writer asked what the problem was. The guy said, Oh, the car, its fine but right after you worked on my car our dog died and I think it's somehow connected to what you did to the car. It can't be just a coincidence!

Peter, I do think this is quite nice. If you can somehow introduce a bit more red or orange into the middle part of the picture, it would then be really wonderful. Keep up the good work and keep shooting. regards.

Great sky and the highlight at the shore is very nice. It is almost a B&W image, but the orange tint is enough to make me glad that you didn't go B&W.

The monochromatic tonal values here would be well handled by a good B&W film and paper, but there's no way that glow in the sky could have been accomplished without subtle colorations. Even without the orange glow, I think this wonderful image needs the full effects of color.
