Pure attitude. A very evocative portrait.

Very moody. Shame it hasn't received much attention. I like the fact that he has apparently got something on his mind, and the dof has isolated him from his surroundings, making him appear quite lonely. The surroundings are wonderfully spacious too. A pretty neat shot, not sure about the ragged edge framing though (it inteferes with the support his back is leaning on).

I just love the expression and the depth of field in this one! Excellent!

too cool. if this is a portrait of an artist friend, it's great. dig the east german hard edge vibe of the stark setting, leather jacket, skin head cigarette smoking self absorbed tough dude. great background and good job using DOF control to bring eyes to face of subject.

Does the top third detract from the main theme?

Words that come to mind - tough, weary, waiting, cool - all around sharp effort. Conveys much more than first meets the eye.

I like the subject and compositions in this series, but for me, the border is quite distracting. Also, the border is the only place I found any real blacks. If it were my series, I'd crop the border and increase the contrast. Thanks for sharing them!

a little top heavy ....

Pictures of people that make you wonder about them. Where, what, why...

blur and no focus though if you know how to use an unfocused effect could be very striking. ask the photographer to use a woman next time to create an ethereal effect.
