mbp 0 Posted March 30, 2011 This is my first time using a new camera, and I'm transitioning from a digital point-and-shoot to a used canon 35mm (EOS-1), and so I would really appreciate your input. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted March 30, 2011 I would crop out everything except Levi to create parallelism, with him hiding from the camera and the camera hiding from him. best, j Link to comment
mbp 0 Posted March 30, 2011 You're right, but I was mostly wanting to see what the camera and lens did with the blur of the table. I also like the blurs on the table from the reflection of his face and also the window (and I think the effect is somewhat lost with the crop). Is the graininess something that is more dependent on the film one is using, or the lens, or the camera settings? I'll attach a cropped version to this message. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted March 30, 2011 you could extend up to give the head space, and extend down to let the elbow finish, but there isn't much on the table or the ceiling to blur, so it's pretty uniform. The face reflection is also a stretch. you need a shinier table!grain is strictly a function of the film. what film was it? best, j Link to comment
mbp 0 Posted March 30, 2011 thanks. And no, I wasn't saying there is a reflection of his face, but instead the blur. There's something I like about how it plays against the vignette-ing. Maybe I'm talking nonsense. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted March 30, 2011 but pretty subtle. it's great to be entranced by such things. j Link to comment
