I love this.  For me the composition works brilliantly.  Relaxed mood from the model and nice DoF.  The grain works beautifully complements the style of clothing used also.  The only thing I might do is remove the lights at the top of the photo.  I found that my eye was drawn from the model to those rather than those of the track and pavement.

Regards

James

Gianluca,

Dafne is certainly a cutie! She has a very nice expression and good eye contact with the camera (viewer) that makes her appear quite seductive. I like this portrait very much. The lighting is very good. I like the soft muted tones. The railroad tracks leading us to an out-of-focus nowhere keeps our eyes going back to Dafne. Her skin tone is very good.

For the most part I like the composition. You could have given her a little more room behind her -- the right side. Her left hand is very close to the edge of the frame and she is quite far on the right side of the picture. I find the compositional balance to be just a bit right heavy.

Be careful when you pose a girl leaning back on her hands. Dafne is actually leaning on them. This forces her shoulders to hunch up which isn't a very appealing look. Her hands should be back there for looks and balance, only.

It would be better not to crop the fingers of her right hand with her left forearm.

You really should burn in the top of her right hand. It is lighter than her face and draws attention away from her face.

This is quite picky, but I think you will find her left foot would look more graceful and elegant if the front of he foot was pointed downward rather than upward. You could have her move her right foot a little farther out, too. This would give her a better line from her hip to her toes. The right angle (90˚) at her knee is a hard masculine angle. If you increase the angle her leg will look more curved -- feminine and graceful.

Catchlights would add a little more life to her eyes.

You have burned-in the edges of your photograph. Darkening the edges helps to keep the viewer's eyes within the photograph which is a very good thing to do. You do not want to make it obvious that you have darkened the edges of a portrait. You want to have a very subtle gradation of tone going to the edges. The process shouldn't draw attention to itself.

Nice shot,

Mark

The good composition of a shot and pleasant toning, but very is a lot of noise. Yours faithfully, Alex

Ciao Alexander.

Grazie per il tuo commento. Ma volevo solo dire che non è rumore. La foto orginale è molto nitida.

Ho aggiunto io la grana in post produzione!!!

Grazie .

Con stima

I love the grain or haze of this shot. Some of your photographs are achingly beautiful, such art!
