This is a remarkably lit door and the painting on it is very impressive and pleasant at the same time, your lighting here is superb and so the details and colors.

Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Hi Koushik....... despite the previous posters comments, I need to disagree in some areas.

I am unfamiliar with your camera, but would think it is a P&S model with a built-in flash.... noramlly situated on the left of the body (when taking a picture). In order to take this image, you would have rotated the camera lengthwise. placing the flash at the lowest end of the camera body. This explains the concentrated illumination in the bottom left of the image, gradiating towards a darker image as one looks higher. I appreciate the constraints of your equipment as I also appreciate the unique subject matter of the image.

I prefer critiques to ratings as those who rate, seldom critique and I learn nothing from generous numbers.

So, the subject matter is a good find..... colourful and interesting but I hope that the generous ratings bestowed on this image do not cloud your understanding of it's short-comings.

Regards

Rashed, Cosmin, Ruud, Tatjana, thanks a lot for your kind comments. Grayham, thank you so much for your interest and time. I appreciate your critique. You're absolutely right about the uneven lighting on the door. However, this was not taken with a flash. In this P&S camera you can turn the flash off. This is the door of a house where people live. When I took the photo, the door was half open and the gradient of light on it is sunlight, actually. I am attaching the original shot for comparison. But thank you very much for the critique. -koushik

Hi Koushik..... thank you for your kind response (and email). The above image and notation explains a lot. I'm not sure whether I prefer the original image or the cropped version. It is an oustanding "front door" and so in a complete turnaround from my original critique..... maybe a little "fill-in" flash could have helped balance the light (smiles).

This image has led me to your portfolio in which you have some outstanding images and I will re-visit soon.

Best regards,
