Nick,

 Esthetically & artistically this is a masterpiece.  As a scientific record, I am not convinced. Since the clouds and the moon seem to have different resolutions and there is a series of marks around the moon's edge I presume this is computer pasteup.  I certainly don't care if the intent is art, however using the common term "supermoon" suggests this is an actual astrophoto as it stands.

Actually this is not a paste-up but rather a clumsy attempt in fixing some shortcommings of the photo... (I'll try to attach it with this post)

I selected the moon and then worked on the sharpness and contrast of each area separately. Since I'm not very good at that the moons edge is full of artefacts....

It was a difficult shot since I didn't have a tripod but took off my hiking boot put it on a boulder and used it as a cradle for the lens...

And you're right... it should have gone in astro-photos...
