flyboy 0 Posted April 6, 2001 This is the Cana Island light in Door County, Wisconsin. The photo was taken in the early afternoon in April. I know the lighting would be better in the early morning or late afternoon. I'm looking for comments on the composition. Any comments are welcome. Link to comment
keith_micoli 0 Posted April 6, 2001 First, I like the picture. But I think it would be better without the trees on the left and right edges, and maybe without the wall. It is hard to decide what the subject of the photos is, the wall, the house, or the light house. All of them are nice, but they are battling for supremecy in this shot. I might try taking this from closer to the wall or from in front of the house at the left of this picture. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 6, 2001 This is well done techniques wise, and would make a good magazine photo, travel, etc. But as a stand alone image, it doesn't convey anything. What made you stop and take a picture here? What were you feeling? What are you trying to share with the viewer? Everything in this shot is equal in size and clarity. There is no conflict or comparison. It's to orderly and rectangular and rigid. Find a dynamic viewpoint that propels the picture above a mere "record shot". Whew...it obviously got my attention, I'll give it that. Link to comment
