David - while this photo has some potential, there are a couple of very distracting elements that might have been avoided by different framing and shooting from a different angle (if possible). First, the dead space to the left makes this composition quite unbalanced, with a large area of the frame having no visual interest. Secondly, the bright highlights in the background that run up the center of the photo are quite distracting. Shooting from a slightly different angle might have removed these highlights from view, and eliminated the dead space in the frame.

Good flower photography is not easy. I know, as I have tried with only very limited success. :)
