empty and pointless shot.

for category architecture - baddly from technival perspective (composition, etc), for street foto of NY - just bad.

I was there and so I know - this place is far more interesting than this.

Hi Boris,

Thank you for your critique.

I am afraid you missed the point. Even in photography, the photographer is entitled to express his/her opinion and show things trough his/her eyes.

You might be right, this place is more interesting than my image, and the picture is pointless to you because it is different from your personal experience, or it won't fulfil your expectations.

However this image represent MY experience not yours. It represents my feeling and my way of seeing things. If you don't like how I see things that  is ok. But a helpful critique supposed to articulate a bit more on your main points: ("baddly from technival perspective (composition, etc), for street foto of NY - just bad.")...

Please acept one important thing: this picture is NOT in the Documentary cathegory, so what it means, this picture is a personal interpretation.

Finaly, remember what Tarkovsky said: "An image is an impression of the Truth, wich God has allowed us to glimpse with our sightless eyes".

This is my personal "empty and pointless"  impression.

Regards: Laszlo

I'm sure New York has many faces - even this one small slice of it - though, not being a resident I'm seeing this more as an architectural abstract - a study of mass, line, rhythm, light and shadow. i find the overall effect to be striking and unique and i'm quite able to enter without distraction into what you saw here.
