Dan, thank you for your generous comment. I envisaged the vertical view as a horizontal one in the final framing - It was taken on a metal rooftop that was being lit by different coloured lights. Somehow it reminded me of watching the night express train roar through our village station at night. Interesting how we photograph what we might consider to be interesting forms and shapes and then relate it to past experiences. I guess the image could have simply been marked "untitled."  You are right on about blue and black. It's a combination we should perhaps use more often, perhaps with white in a daylit scene, and alone in a night photo.
