a poignant view of city life - i like your storytelling composition - she is alone, an island unto herself, looking "a little lost" (as you have put it aptly) while around her, at oceanic difference, we have a cosy group of two who seem to be sharing a perch, and a group of three who seem to have a common interest in something - possibly artwork - displayed on the pavement ahead of them by an unseen artisit - whose bag it is perhaps, lying by the side

i like the bold toning as it serves to enhance the impact of the image

Rajat,

You have nailed each and every item in the picture perfectly! On the right was a smoking damsel, perhaps that is what the gentleman on the right is in awe of! I cropped the right part out to put more visual stress on the lady on the left. I vaguely remembered one of Matthew Arnold's Marguerite poems from school at that time, and then I discovered the poem again:

Yes! In the sea of life enisled,
With echoing straits between us thrown,
Dotting the shoreless watery wild,
We mortal millions live alone.
The islands feel the enclasping flow,
And then their endless bounds they know.

Arnold's lament resonates deeply with me...

"Oh, might our marges meet again!

...

Who renders vain their deep desire?--
A god, a god their severance ruled!"

i'm delighted by your inspiration... excellent work!
