single photos knot

I've always loved the texture and colors of climbing ropes and thought they would make an interesting subject. There's just too much out of focus here and the composition isn't compelling. Keep working at it, I think you're onto something (as opposed to on something). Play with the composition, depth of field, shadows and curves.

i should have said this already but there is a reason half of this picture is out of focus: a handwritten poem was inserted into the left half of the picture. as well, the final version was cropped square.
