Girl

bueh

I adapted the lens with an Ukrainian tilt adapter to my dSLR.
EXIF data shows that I used the following settings: ISO 400. Everything else was set in the RawStudio RAW processor.
The camera was hand-held. The image is uncropped and not manipulated.

Bueh,

She is a pretty girl. You have focused quite well on her eyes.

When I used a view camera, I always used the tilt to try to lessen any distortion. I suppose there would be times when you would want to increase it. I don't think this portrait is one of those times. I don't see a good reason to have any of her out of focus. An out of focus background is very nice and focuses attention on your subject. Parts of your subject out of focus will draw attention away from what is in focus. It is difficult to go wrong with having the entire subject in focus.

The lighting is a tad flat. Judicious use of shadows can add interest and help to create a nice illusion of depth within your photograph.

Any lettering, drawings, pictures, symbols, bright colors, stripes or bold patterns on clothing or in the background will draw the viewer's attention away from your subject. In a portrait the subject’s face is what is most important and nothing should draw the viewer’s attention away from the face.

Her skin tone is quite nice, but her cheeks look a little flushed.

It would be better if the obit of her right eye did not cut into her eye. You could have her turn her head a little more towards the camera or have her lay her head farther back.

Nice shot,

Mark
