Waldemar,

Jana is a beautiful girl. You have focused well on her eyes. Her pale skin tone goes well with her pretty blonde hair, light lipstick and the color of her sweater. The background is nicely out of focus and she is well separated from it. I love her expression.

Jana's make-up looks very good, but it does seem a little odd that you can't see much of her eyelashes on her left eye. It might just be the angle we see it from?

If you are going to have her wear pale pink lipstick, I would not have her wear bright red fingernail polish. It draws the viewer's eyes away from her face. If you are going to show her fingernails this closely, make sure she has a good manicure!

You have an interesting placement of her middle finger on her left hand. It makes you wonder if you had her do this on purpose.

Notice how the fingers on her right hand are bent under. That is similar to cropping at a joint. It makes her look a bit like an amputee.

Avoid having the back (or palm) of the hand towards the camera. The edge (side) of the hand towards the camera is thinning, feminine and graceful. The little finger towards the camera with the fingers cascading rather than side by side is preferred.

The color of the fuzzy rap over her head is somewhat distracting. A more neutral color or changing the photograph to black and white would work better. You don't want anything to distract the viewer from your subject's face.

Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. By positioning the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph you not only have her facing into the picture, but you have good left and right compositional balance. This little rule almost always works well. At least it gives you a good starting point from which to subtly adjust your composition to make it visually balanced.

Catchlights would have added life to her eyes.

You have to be a little careful of looking up her nose if you have her tilt her head back.

Nice shot,

Mark
