The model is pretty and your lighting is remarkable and well set, the details of the face are fine while the skin tone is of very original nature, the model eye contact well communicate with the viewers.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Very fresh portrait. I like the nice soft colors and soft light. The portrait has a very spontaneous look. Also the expression on this girls face fits very well. Excellent!

Shane,

Julia is a very pretty girl with a cute smile. You have focused well on her eyes. She has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). Her make-up looks very nice. There are a few things I would do a little differently.

While the background is nicely out of focus and Julia is well separated from the background, there are some shapes, lines and colors that attract my attention. You don't want anything in your photograph that will take attention away from Julia.

She could be a little lighter and her skin tone is a tad on the reddish/yellow side. Notice that the whites of her eyes could be whiter and brighter.

If you lighten the shadows a little bit you will be able to see her make-up and hair a little better.

I would give her a little more headroom and lower your crop on the bottom to include more of her hair. Lowering the crop on the bottom would also give you better top and bottom compositional balance. Your left and right compositional balance is very good.

I think this would look better with a vertical format. You don't really want her body posed straight on to the camera. This is not a very feminine pose. Showing your subject’s widest areas (shoulder to shoulder or hip to hip) makes those areas appear wide. Your subject will appear thinner and more feminine, graceful and elegant if turned at an angle to the camera. The lines you see from an angle have more apparent motion, interest and grace. You usually do not want to have your subject turned 90 degrees to the camera. This can make the head look unsupported. Generally, it looks best to angle your subject somewhere around 45 degrees. She can still turn her head straight on to the camera to show her hair.

She has some nice reflections in her eyes -- especially her right eye. I would like to see more distinct catchlights in each eye to give her even more life. It would be good to show nice specular highlights on her lips. This helps to emphasize her femininity and helps with a little sensuality, too.

I would increase my depth of field so that none of her was out of focus. I don't see a good reason to have any of her out of focus. An out of focus background is very nice and focuses attention on your subject. Parts of your subject out of focus will draw attention away from what is in focus. It is difficult to go wrong with having the entire subject in focus.

Nice shot,

Mark
