Thank you for your nice comments. I like this very much myself. Was a crazy show. The moonlight let me use a fast shutter and capture the "needles" and structure.

Thank you! It's like curtains yes. It's another word we use for it. When the aurora is active(outburst) there will be curtains, but without moonlight its hard to capture them without a D3X etc.

This is a fantastic shot. Can you let me know what the exposure details are e.g. the ISO you used and the exposure time. The reason I ask is that I would like to buy a lens that I can use for a similar activity. The details would help me make a choice between your fantastic Tokina or a Nikon 14-24.
