Art X Photography 1 Posted February 16, 2011 giasou Nick.overall this is a nice scene. the slow shutter speed works well here but I would have liked it to have gone further, as in slower speedNot only would this have added to a more 'misty' water effect but also a more dynamic sky through cloud movement. (often a ND filter can achieve this result at around f/9 stop down) Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 17, 2011 Nick, This is a stunning seascape. The pastel colors pack a real punch and contrast well and the pier sets up the composition. I also like the texture of the rocks on the beach and the bit of blue on the front right. I respectfully disagree with Art about blurring the water more with a slower shutter speed. While the slow speed creates an effective blur of water in the beach area, blurring the water more would lose important detail and definition. I have made the mistake of over-blurring water myself and have learned my lesson. Congratulations on a most effective image. I would suggest that you either delete or soften your © signature; as is, it overpowers and interferes with the image. Link to comment
