mike_palermiti 3 Posted February 14, 2011 Anura,Excellent sharpness and contrast of colors. There was no lens mentioned, but if it were a zoom lens, perhaps a picture showing the entire creature would have been a better presentation. If a long lens were used, then I can understand the natural crop factor on the Nikon D7000.With a creature of this size, a safe distance is a good practice.Well done anyway. anura1 0 Posted February 15, 2011 Rashed, Yes, Yala is very good place to see the animals. I certainly agree with you that Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and pictures on your prtofolio really has done justice to show that natural beauty.Mike, The lens I used was Sigma 150-500mm. I do have a picture which shows a entire creature, but I felt the more close up of him will add an exitment & shows more detail of this beautiful creature. This is not a crop and I certainly took this picture from a failr distance away (f 6.3/500mm @ 1/320 sec) as this is the biggest animal I have seen of this kind.Thank you to both of you for commenting on the photo.Anura Link to comment
