stp 6 Posted February 10, 2011 This is a great photo of the interior of a forest. You've handled the light contrast very well (which is my biggest problem when photographing forests; I usually do so only on overcast days). I also like your composition, with roots growing over a rock slab to find soil, a snag on the left, and multiple ages of trees (I'm a biologist with a fondness for old-growth forests. My only minor concerns are the two elements that show just a bit of themselves: the (hemlock?) bough on the right and the rock in the lower left corner. It can be difficult in a complex setting like this, but remnant elements should (IMO) either be shown more fully, or a different position to eliminate them should be chosen.
