Beth:

Just a super image. I like your use of blur to create DOF and focus the user. The perspective here is great. The vehicle is really 'Deluxe'. I bet it never looked better.

Congratulations.

Regards, John.

Hi beth, sorry but I have to pull you up on some sloppy photoshop work. Firstly I think the blur you applied was far too strong, and the image now looks unrealistic, Im a big fan of the technique, but definitely bring it back a bit. And secondly, the selection was not so good around the right headlight and it looks like something weird is going on there.

Good concept though, keep trying.

peace,

nick.

Nicholas, thanks for the comments. I'm only about three months into learning photoshop and I do have a tendency to get carried away. Critiques like yours will help me see my mistakes and learn much faster. Thanks. I also tried to get rid of the reflection of another car beside this one and I think it's a bit sloppy, too.

This one is as shot with only a few posts and wires removed.

Beth,

I like the background blur but agree that maybe it's just a bit too strong! But I think some blur is needed and brings out the Chevy Deluxe better. Work a bit on that passenger side headlight and I think you'll have it in my opinion. Compared to the original, I think you've done about as much as you could with the other car's reflection.

I like the rain drops beading on the obviously waxed finish and the wet pavement!

Good angle for the composition and good lighting.

i see what you mean about the reflection, and i didnt notice at all! I think that effort wasnt so bad. Agree that the composition and everything else is good, and hey, I can only tell you about the PS mistakes because ive made exactly the same ones myself plenty of times.

peace

Hi Beth, I agree with Jim on this one. You did a really good job on removing the reflections and the background blur just needs a little work to fix this. Love the car and the color is great. FS
