edlark 0 Posted April 25, 2003 The hardest part about making this image was attempting to get a sense of sharpness, while still retaining a feeling of speed and movement. Comments and suggestions are very appreciated. Link to comment
edlark 0 Posted April 27, 2003 The camera was mounted on a tripod, but I just used it as a brace - like a monopod. I couldn't really set it up on the bus - I got enough "what the hell are you doing" looks as it was. Plus, the shake from the bus itself , which would translate up through the tripod if resting on the floor of the bus, would probably negate any advantage I would get that way. I guess the solution would be to use a faster film, or push the Provia a stop or two, but I haven't gotten very good results pushing Provia 400f, and the faster films that I do have experience with don't provide the level of color rendition that I get from Provia. The shot is taken at around f/4 in order to get a decent depth of field, I would like more, but that was pushing the shutter speed down to being on the edge of holdability (~1/30th or 1/15th). I'm not discounting your comments, I agree with your comment to a large degree, I'm just not sure how to get from here to there with my equipment and the films with which I have some experience. kathleen_bennett1 0 Posted April 29, 2003 I like the use of geometric lines/shapes, and the color is evocative, but could have used less murkiness in the midtones. Link to comment
