timeless earth 1 Posted February 1, 2011 A grand few days on Eigg last week - you're thoughts are appreciated. It's been a while since I last posted and I've noticed that uploaded images seem to lose their sharpness and in some cases vibrancy of colour also - could anyone shed any light on this ? cheers Ferg Link to comment
johnfarrar 31 Posted February 2, 2011 A superb version of a classic view - beats some of the better known ones! Like the way the clouds pull out to the top corners, really finishes off the top of the pic. I'd be tempted to darken the sky on the left horizon just a little. But definitely one for the wall! melloncollie 0 Posted February 2, 2011 it is sharp and colorful enough for me. i didnt noticed loss of quality so far on my photos, but i use to put a bigger size, so you must click on it again to see the real size and qualtiy. your picture is amazing, colors, light, tones just more than perfect. a masterpiece, it deserve to be on the top of the first page. timeless earth 1 Posted February 2, 2011 Thanks Szolt I appreciate your kind words. As far as the sharpening is concerned it always used to be the case that the image displayed used to faithfully represent the image that was uploaded .It also used to be the case that any more than around a pixel count of 680 width would leave the image not absolutely sharp, you would then have to double click to see it as a bigger 'sharp' image. I'm finding pretty much everyones images which were once crisp are not crisp anymore regardless of double clicking onto a bigger image! It also does'nt make any difference if the images are over or under 200Kb ?!To me it's as if photonet have reduced the amount of info for every image as to reduce the amount of info having to be stored as a whole. Hmmmmm! Link to comment
mrp1 0 Posted February 4, 2011 Fantastic shot, the forground rock seems to have a 3D effect to it. I also love the rest of your portfolio. Surely Scotland has to be the best place in the World? Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted April 15, 2011 Brilliant and superb. It looks pretty sharp to me. I mostly load 679 resolution and I have a feeling that is the cut off point before some compression takes place and also having a large size available when you click on the image. I also change the color space from AdobeRGB to sRGB.Rated (6) Link to comment
