OK Moulinath but I'm no great expert myself.

The afternoon light is producing a slight yellow cast which can be counteracted by adding a blue layer with a suitably low opacity. If you were shooting in RAW then you could manipulate the colour balance very easily.

I would sharpen the image just a little and if possible I would increase the space on the left and reduce the space on the right.

Excellent image captured.

I used your existing JPEG to improve the over all presentation.

Photoshop CS5, "auto color balance", followed by mild sharpening, and then a slight contrast adjustment. It took me all of 2 minutes.
