Wonderful portrait. This has a great play of light, a relaxed natural feeling and a superb DOF. Great work

beautiful refreshing portrait, well captured! Maybe the lower part of her face could be slightly brighter, just a suggestion. Regards, Burak

Fabiano,

Regina is a very pretty girl with a lovely smile. She has good eye contact with the camera (viewer). You have focused well on her eyes. The background is nicely out of focus and she is well separated from it.

Her skin tone looks quite good. Perhaps a little red on her face and shoulder, but acceptable.

Other than cropping into her left hand and arm, the composition is very good. I would have given her a little more room above her. You can't really crop her left arm out without cropping way into her head. That wouldn't look very good.

I'm not sure I like the multiple dots of reflection in her eyes. It is a little spooky looking.

The bright areas of the sun in the background and on the foreground draw attention away from Regina and are quite annoying. They are not nearly as annoying as the spill of sunlight hitting Regina's left forearm and face -- especially her nose.

She is too dark. She needs more exposure, even though it makes the sunlit spots even brighter (clipped).

It would be nice if her head was turned even a bit more to her right. This would allow more of the whites of her eyes to show on both sides. Her eyes would look a little more balanced.

An out of focus background draws attention to your subject. An out of focus foreground, especially one overly bright sunspots) draws attention away from your subject.

This is not a good position her her left hand. Be careful of foreshortening. Watch for anything closer to the camera than the body. If nearer the camera than her body her feet, knees, hands, elbows and shoulders will look out of proportion to the rest of the body -- larger than normal -- foreshortened.

Her's isn't too bothersome, but you want to avoid bright colors, stripes and bold patterns in clothing. In a portrait the subject’s face is what is most important and nothing should draw the viewer’s attention away from the face. You do not want her bra (or what appears to be her bra) showing.

Not counting her left hand and arm, she is in good focus, except for her clothing over her left breast. That is out of focus. My attention is drawn to that area. I don't see a good reason to have any of her out of focus. An out of focus background is very nice and focuses attention on your subject. Parts of your subject out of focus will draw attention away from what is in focus. It is difficult to go wrong with having the entire subject in focus.

Nice shot,

Mark
