F100 w/20mm lens. It was nice that the semi-transparent tarp on top of the partially constructed globe created its own big soft-box. I wish I had been shooting slower film, but it was in the camera from the night before so I had to use the 800.

I think it's a good environmental portrait. It might have been stronger if he had been off to one side with his head still in the center of "web" rather than having his head and the apex behind it smack dab in the middle of the photo, but mostly I like it

I like it! Business people are always advised to be carful with photographes from the newspapers, less they portrait them with something sticking out of their heads. The classic is the factory chimny with the headline "Full steam ahead for (company/person name)!" They are oh-so funny those people from the local papers... :-)

 

But here I like the effect and it seems to suit the character.

 

Maybe off-centre would be better, as suggested by another poster. I would tend to agree, but the attached crop leaves me unconvinced.
