comments and criticisms encouraged. this photo was taken during the

great winter storm of 2011, in Birmingham, Alabama (in which we

received 3 inches of snow and ice, and most things were shut down for

several days). JR

Simple and beautiful rendition in b/w. I love it!

I like this. What makes it work specially are the graduated widths of snow leading the eye down to the leaf.

I am distracted by the small speck just above and to the right of the leaf and if I'd created this I would have cloned it out.

Wonderful rhythm and lovely presentation. I hope you do more of this, it is certainly worth exploring. I'm glad I stopped, it has gotten me thinking.

I agree with what others have said about the composition. I'd like to add that the lone leaf really works here.
