This is the type of picture that photo.net needs to allow more kilobytes for, i.e., is it blowing some of the highlites because of jpg compression or in the photo itself: same with the  solid gray on the snow on the right.

Do you use an IR filter to get the sky black?

I have a sky filter on my lens.  The forward cockpit windshield has a blue tint which act like a polarize filter.  It was a beautiful blue sky.  I made very small post editing with cropping and minor adjustment on the contrast.
