alan chan 0 Posted April 19, 2003 It was a misty morning with a bit of rain while we were on a boat cruise in Periyar - South India. The upper decks were packed with foreign tourist - most of them were mainly interested in the wild life and bird activities in this famous backwater area of South India. The lower deck was mainly occupied by local tourists from India. This young girl was amongst one of those students leaded by a school teacher, this quick snap was taken with the GR1s presetting to "snap mode" and using a relatively fast film. krassi_zourkova 0 Posted April 22, 2003 Very well done!! I love the tilted wooden frame that tries to become the photo's frame, somewhat nonchalantly. The colors are fantastic (overall monochrome, and then the simple bright red with the fine touch of the dot on her forehead). Her expression, the water on the window, all of it -- simply excellent! (Ideally, I would also have gotten rid of the blue reflections on her face, but understanding the limitations of the untampered with snapshot, I think you get away with it overall in such a beutiful work...) hayward 0 Posted May 25, 2003 Hi, Alan. You gave me a 4/4 on a picture that has received 6/7 from several others. Despite that, I feel compelled to say that this is an excellent photo. The composition is perfect, the expression compelling and the rain adds a touch of originality. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 26, 2003 Very nice shot, I like it. My only regret is the reflexion on here eye. You could have moved a little bit to displace the reflexion to be on the cheek for example. Link to comment
Jenifer Selwa Photography 0 Posted January 11, 2004 Alan, this is a great image. It appears you caught the girl looking out the window and she wasn't aware you were taking the photo! Nice, candid expression. You have a fantastic portfolio. Keep up the great work. Link to comment
