This image was pushing the gamut of Adobe RGB. Yellow, orange, green,

all exist at the fringes. Processed in Pro photo. Please critique.

I'm guessing that the primary purpose of the photo was to push the colors to the edge of the Adobe RGB gamut.  I anticipate that a sizable proportion of viewers will respond with "wow, great colors."

Hi Stephen,

I don't know if you have been to Ontario during fall but we get really saturated fall colors. Yellows, lemon green, deep reds and oranges. I have shot many fall photos but found it frustrating to process them in Adobe space. It is very hard to reproduce the colors you see with your own eyes (and some even recorded on Velvia). I found it much easier to work in a color space that is not limiting from the very beginning. Of course one has to be careful during processing and be prepared to lose some effect when converting for web or printing.

So the primary purpose of photo is to record and reproduce nature's wonderful display. Whatever tools help me do it, I just use them.

cheers... Sandeep

I do like this picture but, when I first opened it up, I was like, whoa, u must've used a lotta saturation on this photo and in your comments, it seemed like you did use it. How were the initial colors when you took this picture before you "upgraded" the colors?

I love taking fall foliage pictures and my camera has a fall foliage setting. Many times when I take pics, my camera really brings out the colors in the trees. I initially wasn't sure if your camera did the same thing, though, then again, this was much brighter. It's still a pretty pic and the reds/oranges/yellows make the pic "Pop"
