olafdziallas 0 Posted January 6, 2011 8 sec. exposure of this very beautifull waterfall located in the south of Iceland. Please tell me what you think! Best regards, Olaf Link to comment
viviblu 0 Posted January 7, 2011 Dear Olaf, I think the 8 seconds worked perfectly for the water and the green plants. Not so good for the sky though. You should try to use some ND grad filters for the sky. But the photo is still very good. Link to comment
olafdziallas 0 Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks for your comment - you're absolutely right, the sky is a catastrophy, but I think a ND-filter would have darken the stones too much (and probably wouldn't make the sky look even better, just darker grey, haha...). The problem was an abolutely no-go flat light-grey sky and the very dark "arena" with the waterfall and dark stones in it. I tried to minimize the sky on the capture as much as possible, but I think this is a lighting situation that is hard to control (at least in one capture, probably an exposure blending / HDR would have been the right thing to do here, but at that time I had only an analog camera with me).Best regards,Olaf Link to comment
