brendan_trewartha 0 Posted January 4, 2011 Sure Jeffrey, Sydney NYE fireworks is always worth a look, if you are happy to perch near a cliff then you can roll up at this spot 11:00pm and still get a a clear shot. Thanks to everyone else for your comments. Link to comment

yisun 0 Posted January 5, 2011 Nice balanced composition, accurate exposure time! Was this one cropped or stitched together? Is it possible to take panaroma shot under this condition. Bravo, Yi Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted January 5, 2011 Masterfully executed, Brendan. You had a good vantage point. Not too many other people trying to take a shot ? Link to comment
brendan_trewartha 0 Posted January 6, 2011 Thanks again everyone.Yi Sun, the photo was taken at around 24mm on a 16-35mm lens and then cropped to create a 5x2 format. I am using a 5D MkII so you can afford to do this and still get a reasonably large image.I do post some photos occasionally which are taken on a 24mmTS/E lens stiched to give equiv. 14mm angle of view however this is too wide for this vantage point and would be impracticle for fireworks.Peter, there were a lot of people there by 12:00am most with hand-held cameras and flash, I found a couple of keen photographers with tripods most of which found a vantage point early. In my case I was there with family and friends but still found a clear spot around 11:30pm.Best Regards, Brendan. Link to comment
