Any suggestions for shooting shots like this? I didn't think this

shot was going to come out as he was crawling rather quickly to get

under the wood just above him. To my surprise something actually came

out of this shot. I was just wondering what could have helped me

capture this shot more clearly even with him moving as he was? I

actually think it is a cool picture since he is in his camo outfit.

Just wish it were a litte better defined. Still practicing, and

thanks for all the suggestions you guys have given.

This is a nice shot Lisa. I did a levels adjustment to set the black points for each channel and darken it a little. I also added a little USM to bring out the details.

Let me know what you think...

Very good capture of an elusive subject. I like Jim's enhancements, and I think I'd crop a little from the top, and maybe from the right side.

But it's pretty good just the way it is.

You're getting better Lisa. Everytime I view your work I can see improvements. Jim's changes work for this one and Michael's cropping suggestions would put the little fella at the rule of thirds cross point.

Great capture! Jim and Michael have some good ideas but it doesn't really need too much to be truly super. AND, the flash didn't go off! This is a really nice example of seeing an image to be made. Good work, Lisa!

Jim and Michael: Thanks for the suggestions and the image with the level adjustments. It looks really good. I had to shoot this quicker than I wanted to, but I got the creature.

Regina, thanks for your comment regarding getting better. I feel like it is such a slow process, but I am okay with that. Especially since my boyfriend took a shot of this, as well, and it did't come out. He laughed about it, and said I was trying to change things up a bit and that was a good way to learn. So, I really appreciate your comment.

Fred: Jackpot! You are correct, the flash did not go off. Brian...my boyfriend...and I were trying to figure out what is up with my flash, so he was paying a good bit of attention while I was shooting. I was afraid it would fire, but it didn't. Also, thanks for your comment on this shot. I am wanting to take a few more risks in hopes of learning more.

Again, thanks to all who have commented.

See folks... I do exist. ;) I have to admit I am proud of Lisa's shot here, especially because my version from the other side of the tree came out so bad! lol! And I am glad everyone has been so receptive to helping her grow as a photographer. It is good to see her enjoying the times we spend shooting together. I am impressed by your shot here... good job, "Sparky"! ;)
