tonyfrench 0 Posted December 31, 2010 Janegbert, the lack of sun certainly adds to the atmosphere of this winter landscape. The well traveled, but deserted, icy road is a great enhancement to the mood also. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted January 3, 2011 Brrrrr!! truly appears cold, the ice on the tree limbs ample evidence that you had a bit of a storm there. Excellent POV. I love that big deciduous tree on the left...beautiful covered with the ice and snow. We've had a few 'flash freezes' this winter but none too damaging where we live. Very nice composition you have here....well done! Most sincerely, Gail Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted January 3, 2011 Very interesting composition of 3 triangles - the road, the willows and a distant tree, amphasizing winter perspective. I like this one a lot. BR,vf Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 12, 2011 I'll echo the positive comments above and add a couple of my own. Judging from your portfolio you are well experienced & produce fine work. To me, this excellent composition seems a tad underexposed. Intentional artistic license or oversight? I ask because not all your snowy scenes appear as gray. At any rate I offer a version which appears, to me at least, to be more representative of the way the scene should appear. (you were there, I wasn't, so take this with a grain of salt) Best, LM. proart 0 Posted January 21, 2011 Nice picture! But I like Len's version a little bit more. Best regards! Link to comment
lourdessantos 0 Posted January 23, 2011 I disagree. In my opinion the exposition in your photo shows better the atmosphere of a winter day than the other one. Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted February 2, 2011 Lovely shot, love the composition in this. Makes me homesick. Link to comment
cristina-velina 0 Posted February 11, 2011 Wow this place look so so much alike with a place that is near the village of my dad parents!!! ...Just i have never took any photos there, but i do remember very well the look from the winter time, while i was passing through there. Beautiful landscape! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 315 Posted May 12, 2011 Yes, the mood is gloomy as a winter heavy cloudy day! Very well brought mood and atmosphere! Again, when I see Len's suggestion sample I must agree that it has the same beauty of the perfectly composed picture and a much more cheerful and relaxing atmosphere! It's a matter of wish, whether you want to show this or that kind of atmosphere! Even surprisingly persuasive example how much the brightness/contrast/saturation balance may influence the mood of the picture!Warm regards Janegbert!PDE Link to comment
