indraneel 0 Posted January 16, 2011 ...Interesting... Maybe a ND gradient to increase saturation at the bottom? Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted January 16, 2011 I even don't know the meaning of ND gradient, This shot is an old (loved) one. I'm sure, one day I will increase the saturation a bit. And even return to the original, having some more space at the top and at the right. Got just used to this one. How? At the end of a rainy day in Spain, even the panasonic with - new on the market- inner sabilisation couldn't handle her "speed" here. Handheld: 21,2 mm / F3,2 / 1/10 sec. However, do have some fantastic surprising results.. Link to comment
m-pinto 0 Posted February 8, 2011 I read and enjoyed your presentation when you say that you are not a diplomat. In critiques is essential to not be it, on the contrary, we have to have "carrying mortise capacity"!!! I will be grateful if you visit my portfolio more often: it is people like you that I need! On this photo (and without any diplomacy!) I think I understand why you love her so much. It is indeed a good photo. If you manipulate it I suggest you to start with a simple and thin vertical crop on the right. Is there a black line that should not be there. So how it is all the photo loses light and creates a barrier that hinders the walking figure.See you soon, I hope.Obrigado,Miguel Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted February 9, 2011 Nice your reaction. Haha.. it's, as allways, very late in the night and after a lot of commenting I finally ended up here. Interesting the idea of the black barrier. Immediately I did hold my finger in front of it. First thought: without the black stroke her goal seems endless and that's slowing her speed. Now one clearly does see, she is approaching something, yes something beyond (!) the line. And next the stroke is giving some extra dept and a spicy character. Haha.., really interesting..! To morrow I will give it another fair chance. And yes, I will visit with pleasure.Drawing teacher.. being still young, that was a sort of my idea of making a living. Yes, "a paid for, kind of hobby, plus always having nice vacations..!" Yes, I do visit very soon. Miguel, lately I even intended to bring the above shot back to nearly the original state. The top and the right would be enlarged by at least one centimeter. Your reaction beneath the shot please. :) Ate a vista..! Olaf. Link to comment
aplumpton 16 Posted March 9, 2011 Elegant image, for the captured walking pose and the neat effect of the blur. First time I have seen an image that so effectively uses the blurred parts as well as the subject in creating the forms and the composition. The lower saturation is I believe part of its charm, and complements your subject beautifully. Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted March 10, 2011 Sometimes one gets an extra. It was raining, flat light, did notice her coming and decided to shoot when she would pass that door. The Panasonic did deliver the lower, pastel like, saturation. Haha, in those days I only added some contrast, often fractions, the saturation option was unknown to me..! :) Link to comment
