looks very good. .... it seems you have figured out the most subtle (in my opinion) part of this camera: that to get macro focus to work, you must zoom out the lens more than halfway in its range. If you dont, you dont get focus. This is not intuitive, and is not the case with the Canon G2. However, once the manual is carefully read, then all is clear with macro focusing the 5700.

 

Incidentally some of my BW shots were shot as BW in the camera, some with ISO increased to 400 or 800 in an attempt to get a kind of TRI-X 35mm BW look.

 

For your architectural work at university, of course you are on a budget, but something like a working Pentax Spotmatic and a Takumar 28mm might give you less distortion, for not much money spent. Just a thought. Surprisingly, there has been little posted about th 5700 here on photo.net. I am not sure why.

I found the poses of these flowers are interesting. The three widely

blooming flowers look as if they are looking for something or

curiously saying hello to this world. This scene brought me a

feeling of fresh spring.
