This is probably Nova Scotia's most photographed piece of coastalwaterfront. The lighthouse is the well known landmark, but this is theactual (very small) cove for which the place is named. I have livedabout an hour and a half from this spot for 20 years, but this is thefirst time I have photographed it. Don't know why it took so long. :)

Hard to be original with this one ... it must get photographed bythousands of tourists every year from the same vantage point. Thanksfor viewing. All comments appreciated.

Michael, I did a double take looking at this shot of Peggy's Cove.  My wife and I were there in July.  Thanks for sharing yours.  Just for fun, I'll try to post mine.  One unfortunate element of this image and mine is the modern green house or housing structure in the background.  It proves that Peggy's Cove is a relatively newish community.  I'd be honored if you choose to look over my Maritimes folder in my portfolio.  Happy holidays and New Year.

Thanks for your comments Larry. Things are much quieter in the village in December than in July. I hope you enjoyed your visit to our fair province, and I will be sure to check out your images from your travels around the Maritimes.

Not sure what you consider a "relatively newish community". Peggy's Cove was settled in 1811. :)

Nice shot - have you tried early in the morning or late in the afternoon? Sometimes this can add drama to an image.
