dominiquedodge 0 Posted April 16, 2003 The subject is interesting, the composition is perfect and the lighting (in a tricky situation) is very good. All in all a photo that in it's simplicity conveys a lot. I sense that this part of the world is dear to you, and many memories are linked to this place? Well done. For me it's a 6+. Now if there had been a child, swimming below the surface and positioned exactly in the space between the railings ... (worth returning?). Thanks. Link to comment
clark_snyder 0 Posted April 22, 2003 good composition...appears to be slightly underexposed. Link to comment
mgm 0 Posted May 29, 2003 I think it's a bit too dark too. I took the opportunity for some Photoshop practice (I hope you don't mind). I lightened it up and "vignetted" it to produce the above. Nice shot/composition...:) Link to comment
carla_johnson 0 Posted May 29, 2003 Your scan is much better. I was having a lot of trouble with my scanning. I think I've gotten a little better. Scanning is a pain though. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment
jo7hs2 0 Posted April 6, 2007 Carla, I love this bridge, and you have done a good job capturing it! It is such a shame that they haven't restored the bridge, because where I used to live (Maryland) they have quite a few bridges like this from the same period (the bridge was built in 1903 or 1907 I think) that have been cleaned up, and they are really pretty. One thing, the bridge isn't actually on the Cahaba River. The Cahaba is actually a small distance away, the bridge is on a tributary to the Cahaba that forms lake Purdy a short distance upstream.
