Wow - well seen and composed - perfect use of light & shadows. I like the abstract touch and dark/shadowy upper part which suggests that sun is setting soon - a gloomy counterpart to bright reflections.

The other day John (Crosley) mentioned you in an email as he was impressed by your reviews. This is the first time I have seen a photo by you and I'm impressed.

You have captured a moment in time. A moment when two groups of people are faced in three directions, almost as if the directions of gaze are represented by the broad lines on the ground by the darker shade of bricks. I also like how the people are united through their posture; certainly the photographer and the subjects, but also three of the people walking towards them have the knees bent and accentuated by the shadows they cast. It is possible that the person with the camera was not photographing the two in front of him (as his camera seems to be pointing upwards), but the postures of the people in the photo unite them and "set" them in the shot.

Great moment, suitably captured in b/w. Regards.

", my sister." this shot was reminding me directly to his style and latest uploads.

The square format works very well here - it may also could work by cuttig to 3:2 at shortly below the upper feed - but that just my 2 cents.

I really like this kind of shot - some magic & dynamic is always in that shadow shots.

Svetlana,

You have used the shadows well as diagonals here; commenters above have well noted that, so I won't elaborate.

The groupings, two, three, then two again, are also excellent.  Is that a double exposure of the person bottom right, or two people, it is hard to tell and just a very little distracting; it seems more like an artifact of a slow exposure, but I can't be sure, and it interests me?

The number of legs suggests four at bottom; the number of distinct shadows, three at bottom.

This is a very attractive photo.

It's also attractive because the lines are more noteworthy because they cross a textured walkway (street?).

Each intersecting line, with each shadow and stone/brick edge, is an opposition, which this photo exploits well.  The shadows and textures and their intersection creates continuing complexity in what otherwise is a relatively simple composition and helps make it exceptionally well done.

Consider if this were a street of asphaltic concrete, or just plain cement (concrete) how it would look, and you'll immediately understand that part of why that increases its strength, I think.

Best regards; keep shooting like this.

You're 'in the groove'.

In the foreground are actually four people.  Just two people on the right are too close to each other.

This shot was taken from the belfry of St Michael's Cathedral in Kyiv.

Thank you very much for your attention to my work!
Svetlana.
