Yeah, she's looking out of the frame. Could be fixed, but I don't know that it should be. Like her look, but the image is a little flat and lifeless.

Thanks Les for your critique ,your take & mentioning that you saw the image flat. It seems  her face  little areas of shade  which is difficult to correct.   John

John: Frankly I don't mind her looking out of the frame.  As for the image being flat, I'm not at all use it's flat enough to mention. Her lips aren't.  I played with the photo in PS.  Tom

Hi, John,

I entered this discussion because the photo impacted me, mainly because of her expression and bright red lips.

About the critique, if it is an informal or casual pose, I think it is a good portrait showing some characteristics of young women: dressing, skin whiteness, expression - big smile spontaneous ??- ,..

If it is a make-ready pose, it is another case: her skin is too pale and white and that is not corrected by her blouse - in hot tones - and her very provocative red lipstick, disturbing the attention. On the other hand, with that very pale skin, I think the completely black background is too exagerated, disturbing again my eyes. She is also orienting her view to the not correct side of the image; if you would make the mirror image - with more open space to the side she is looking -  the photo will be much better.

Bye. Josemi Gondra
