JP, I'm going to share an opinion...and I hope you won't be offended.  The first thing I noticed was not the picture...but the title, "Holga". Looking through your portfolio I noticed that you used the same title for several of your photographs. This adds an immediate negative connotation to how you may see your work...and therefore, how I view your work, in that this gives the impression that you're more concerned with telling people your pictures were taken with a Holga...than you are with the actual pictures themselves. Not saying this is your intent...but just an impression it leaves.  In other words, it says to me..."Look! I've taken pictures with a weird little Russian camera called a Holga!", rather than, "Look! I've taken some photographs that I see has having value...and hope that you see them in the same way! And by the way, they were taken with a Holga!".  I hope this makes sense...and hope it offers you something worthy of consideration.  Now...I want to go back and look at more of your pictures!   Regards,  John

John - i see it as just a title. i could have listed my pictures as Untitled or Woods #54 or such. i'm giving credit to the cameras i have used (polaroid, holga, digital, 2 1/4). at the heart of my intentions is the idea that different cameras produce different results. that maybe you can't do everything with one camera. but again it's just a title - and hopefully people that view my pictures are more concerned with the pictures themselves.

Hey JP!   I understand.  There was a good thread running in one of the forums (probably Casual Conversation) about the importance (or unimportance) of titles.  Lots of good things to think about from several perspectives.  I must admit that much of the time...I hate the chore of titling my photographs. Some just have obvious titles written all over them...others I either scratch my head about what tha' hell I'll title them...or just end of not titling them at all.  Thanks for chatting with me!
