Nice work!  The horse's face is just slipping into blurriness so a touch more depth of field would have helped.

Thanks for your comments!

Jerry: I know... but unfortunately the light inside there was challenging. I started shooting with a 85mm, hence the shallow DOF. It was better with a wide angle lense at 40mm, but then the problem was distortion. If Jessie is ok I'll make another try next summer!

Everything is remarkable in this image, the model is so pretty and so natural with her pose, the present of the horse and the atmosphere of the background bring the originality by all means.

The contrast and tone are other credit factors to the amazing composition here.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

I agree with the first poster. Usually a model such as this would have no competition from a horse. In this case you also have an exceptionally beautiful equine. So many would love to see both tack sharp. A very lovely double portraiture.

Wonderful portrait and great light.  I like your comp and the expression on the model's face too.   Well done!

I am a bit late for the party on this one and most of what I would have said has already been said. It is such a good shot that the minor flaws scream at you.

The model and lighting on the models face is superb. The face of the horse bothers me as it looks like it was overly darkened post process. Although darkening the horses face would help bring your attention to the models face it looks over done and unrealistic. Because the horses face is the biggest thing in the picture you can’t help but look right at it. I think the only way to draw more attention to the model in this case is a shallower depth of field and to crop part of the horses face out as attached.

Thanks to all of you for your nice comments!

Ziggy: I like your suggestion a lot! I definitely need to get familiar with the dodge and burn tools.

Jason: that's for sure a clever crop. My first reaction was "Oh God he cut Sham's [the horse] nose". But it helps the eye to focus on Jessie's face. And you're definitely right about the artificial look of the white on the Sham's nose. I tried to tone it down... but it quickly looked overprocessed.

Shooting a model on a horse is definitely not easy... I was lucky to work with such a wonderful model as Jessie, though.
