This work conveys a beautiful pose that has created shapes that make the eye move throughout the image, and the variety of light and dark shapes, the chiaroscuro, is gorgeous creating both a sense of drama in the feminine form, but also one of atmosphere in the setting.

Most charming indeed and the 40's style hair really works well in black and white. It all adds up to a very nice vintage feel.
