jenniferleigh 0 Posted December 2, 2010 On a morning walk during our honeymoon, several vehicles had been parked along the beach; this Chevrolet being one of them. I couldn't resist the lighting the sunrise cast over it and the backdrop. Would like to know your thoughts and suggestions if you have any, thanks!
jim_j2 9 Posted December 2, 2010 Hi Jennifer,I can see from your portfolio that like me, . . . you have very varied interest and shoot about anything! Especially if the light proposes a "good opportunity," and, after all, . . . photography is all about light!I like the overall scene here, with the pickup, the sky, the beach setting, etc., etc.. The lighting does somewhat highlight the "pearl essence" of the paint on the vehicle, but it is still a little dark in the shadow's which may or may not contribute to the image overall. Most will find the subject (the pickup) boring, but I can understand why you took this photo. It could IMHO have some commercial stock photo value.Maybe it's only interesting to me because I shoot a considerable amount of Classics and Hot Rods!If I had been there, . . . I would have concentrated more on a closeup of the passenger side front corner where the light reflects off the corner, and possibly filled the frame with only the front corner and maybe half of the grill and at an angle to see what the background could contain. But, thats just my thoughts.Best wishes, and keep sharing, . . . I did find your portfolio very interesting and am going back for a closer look!Jim j.
