Harris Gold

Traigh Mhor, Harris, ScotlandJust prior to an Atlantic storm bursting onto Traigh Mhor beach some of the finest light I have ever experienced washed over its golden sands and turned the islands beyond to burnished gold. After three shots I was forced to shelter the camera from driving rain and just one of those exposures was timed perfectly to the peak traverse of a breaking wave acting as a line to the horizon beyond. Please view LARGEPentax 67 II ,55-100 zoom,Fujichrome Velviapolariser, 0.45ND grad, f/16 at 1/2 second.

An atlantic storm front is about to burst on Traigh Mhor on Harris in

Scotland, preceded by some breathtakingly beautiful golden sunlight.

Wonderful image.  My wife and I have been to the Isle of Skye, but not to the outer Hebrides.  Your image is wild, brooding, yet soft at the same time.  The foamy waves and water wrapping around on the beach nicely complement the stormy sky, and the gold light really makes nature pop.  I like this as it is, but experimented a bit by adding luminance and deepening the colors in a levels adjustment layer.   See what you think.
