Guest Guest Posted November 22, 2010 Matthew,She is a very pretty girl. You have focused well on her eyes. The composition is quite good. The color saturation and contrast is excellent. She has very good catchlights. The vertical lines in the background are nicely vertical and all the colors are harmonious. Her expression makes her appear a bit melancholy. I am not sure this is the effect you wanted? I wish you hadn't cropped into the fingers on her left hand. Running her left hand down her thigh would be a better placement. You don't want the flat (top) or palm of the hand towards the camera. Showing a flat side makes it look large and more masculine. It would be good to extend the fingers on her right hand to make it less claw-like. Extended fingers look much more feminine, graceful and elegant. Her make-up looks very nice. The color of her blush and lipstick goes very well with her outfit and her surroundings. You could soften the dark circles under her eyes.It would be good to move the kicker a little farther behind her so that the highlight on the side of her face wasn't so dominant. You have really brought out the shine and texture of the material of her dress. It looks beautiful. Even though she is at an angle to the camera, the stretch lines on her dress, the shadow below her stomach and the outline of her inner and outer left thigh really makes her hips look wide and her thighs look large. She needs a different pose, crop and more judicious use of shadows to accentuate her better lines.I have tried to simplify the background even more. I have cropped out areas of your subject that may be troublesome. If you would turn her closer to a 45˚ angle to the camera she would appear even thinner.Nice shot,Mark Link to comment
