rconey 300 Posted November 24, 2010 I love the Owens Valley side of the Sierra. The sky-mountain juncture here is fine. I find the orange of the foreground a bit overpowering for some reason. Nice, but... a bit over the top. I think the camera is tilted up as well. The perspective is alterd by this. A horizontal image would be more natural. Regards. Link to comment
djackson99 0 Posted November 24, 2010 I think the trees have too much contrast. The dark areas in the foreground are not holding detail. I am still experimenting with this technique. As far as the camera pointed up . . . I don't think so. This was taken with my Nikon 70 - 200 2.8 VR Lens @ 170 mm. We were on the side of the highway pointing pretty close to level across a small valley. One of the things I like about this image is how the longer focal length compresses the trees and the background mountains..I like hearing what people think in an open forum like Photo.net. It really tells me if the image grabs the eye . . . or not. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Link to comment
