In the bathroom...

dievee

1/45 f2.8, taken a half our after sunset. I am becoming addicted to photographing swans, I was there today for the fifth consecutive day, and I'm wondering that I had every day complete different pictures. I'm especially waiting for flying swans, but they don't fly often and if they do they are so fast and it's unpredicted from which direction they will come, I missed already several shots. Regards.

I'm just new on this site and I'm trying to find out how everything

is working, not so evident as English is only my third language.

Would like to know what this Critique Request means and what

should be written in the subject line. Could someone help me. I

posted one picture, but don't know where and if it will show up.

With kind regards, Dirk

Extraordinary and Beautiful. The tones and subject is fitting for myth - I'm thinking "Lydia and the Swan." The only thing I don't get is why you named this sensuous image "In the bathroom"?

Dirk,

To answer your query: When you post a critique request like this one, the comment space is intended to be used in exactly the way that you did, to ask other photographers questions. Sometimes it's also helpful to include a little background about the image, which you already did in the Technical Details box.

I'd say your five days of shooting swans was a major success! The thing which is so exceptional about this image is the blurred movement and dark background, a result of shooting after sunset.

I've noted with swans and geese, that they seem most likely to take off or land either around dawn or dusk. In any event, you've captured a truly amazing image here. Congratulations and welcome to Photo.Net.

In addition to the the blur and dark background, the position of the swan in the frame is perfect. Very well done indeed.

If English is your third language, then photography must be a fourth, but not in that order. You do fine with the English, you do excellent with the photography. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I wonder how the other pictures look like.

but the most terrific fact is that it was taken with a digital camera!

Ik ben ook nog maar pas actief op Photonet en net als jij beheers ik de Engelse taal niet helemaal. Wat je fotos betreft: Nice work!

Really nice shot, good movement/dynamics.

Regarding the English language: you're doing more than OK Dirk. Flemish people are usually too humble about their language skills.
