Hmm...the subject, which I'm guessing is the pseudo-island, is almost at the 50-50 line that usually splits an image right down the middle. That's one composition most photographers usually avoid because then the image appears a bit flat. I used to do that quite a lot & got a lot of horrid remarks from my Professor for the same.

Also, the sky & sea are a little too close in colour. And the harsh lighting on the rocks in the foreground distracts from the main subject. Maybe you could try a polarizing filter next time & try shooting at either just after sunrise or sunset; you tend to get incredible light then. Also, do you really need that little extended area of the village, which is to the right of your frame? Try cropping that out & zooming in to the island & let me know how that goes. Another thing you could try is under-exposing by a couple of f-stops. This will give you better contrasts that will highlight those lovely shadows around the island.

Susan thank you for your time and comments. This photo was taken with the polarizing filter (B+W Slim Circular-Pol).I agree with you that the result would have been better if I had taken the photo before sunrise or sunset.Unfortunately when you travel you do not have too many options.I was just passing by and shot it.Cheers.
